Our kidneys play a very important role in excreting toxins and drugs from the body but sometimes utter numbers can be devastating and your kidneys also need some help from you like you may need to undergo some detoxing therapy and to be constantly on guard against the many toxins or drugs which harm your kidneys.
Your kidneys also become affected by any other medical conditions. The most vital thing you can do to maintain safe kidneys is to take extra care of your body to decrease your probability of developing diseases that will damage on your kidneys.

Drink water, but don’t overdo it. This is because drinking more than the typical four to six glasses a day most likely will not help your kidneys do their job any better.
Have healthy foods. Your kidneys can bear a broad range of dietary habits. Most kidney problems arise out of other medical conditions like diabetes and high blood pressure. So follow healthy, moderate eating habits to control weight and blood pressure. Preventing diabetes and high blood pressure will help keep kidneys in good condition.
Exercise on a regular basis. If you are healthy, getting your exercise is a good idea because, like regular physical activity, healthy eating habits, can help to reduce weight and high blood pressure. Always be watchful of how much exercise you do, particularly if you are not conditioned. Do not exceed yourself when you are not fit and healthy as this can strain your kidneys, especially if you exercise so much that you cause extreme collapse of muscle tissue.
Use watchfulness with herbal remedies and other supplements. Extreme amounts of certain vitamin supplements and some herbal extracts may be damaging to your kidneys. Your doctor should prescribe any vitamins and herbs.
Quit smoking. Smoking can harm blood vessels, which reduces the flow of blood in the kidneys. When the kidneys do not have sufficient blood flow, they cannot function at best levels. Smoking also increases the risk of high blood pressure and kidney cancer.
Do not overdo when taking over-the-counter medications. For example, common non-prescription pills like ibuprofen and naproxen can cause kidney damage if taken too regularly over an extended period. If you have healthy kidneys and use these medicines for occasional pain, they most likely do not cause a risk. If you are taking that for chronic pain or arthritis, you should talk to your doctor about watching your kidney function or finding different ways to control your pain.
If you are at risk, always have regular kidney function screening done. If you have either diabetes or high blood pressure, your doctor should screen for kidney dysfunction as part of usual kidney care for those conditions.
