New Tata Bolt is the new hatch from Tata Motors in India. It is based on the X1 platform and looks like an evolved version of the Vista. It competes against Hyundai Grand i10, Honda Brio and Maruti Suzuki Swift. This hatchback model boasts of a 5-inch touch screen infotainment system which is first in class, and powered by Harman audio system. It is fitted with a turbocharged Revotron petrol engine. The diesel trims, on the other hand, are powered by a 1.3-litre Quadrajet diesel engine which can churn out a maximum power of 74Bhp of peak power at 4000rpm and a peak torque of 190Nm at 1750 to 3000rpm. The 1.3-litre Quadrajet diesel motor can deliver maximum mileage of22.3 kmpl while the 1.2-litre Revotron petrol engine is able to return 18 to 19 Kmpl of mileage.
Braking and Safety
The front wheels of the hatch are fitted with a set of ventilated disc brakes and the rear wheels are equipped with a set of sturdy drum brakes. The safety features comprise of anti-lock braking system, advanced electronic power assisted steering system, speed sensitive function, “Active Return” function and more. There is dual path independent McPherson Strut system in the front axle and an independent 3-link McPherson Strut suspension system in the rear axle.
